... you harbor negative feelings for your body
... these words have come out of your mouth
... you're tired of trying to eat "perfectly"
... you describe your eating habits like this
I'm Grace Hamner (she/her), a writer, creator, and coach who focuses my work on living an authentic life with joy, inner peace, and confidence.
I'm passionate about helping womxn and non-binary friends develop body image resilience, nurture a healthy relationship with food via Intuitive Eating, and live authentically.
I know what it is like to hate my body. I have experienced intrusive thoughts, disordered eating, and a years-long battle with the elusive willpower.
My coaching practice is the culmination of certifications, life experience, professional support, and the personal study I embarked on in order to escape that self-hatred.
When I was pregnant with my twins, my body changed significantly and rapidly. Every conversation became about this body that I didn't recognize… and I struggled. My autoimmune condition flared, my relationships suffered, and my mental health tanked.
I spent years hating and fighting with my body, specifically my weight. I engaged in diet after diet. None of them worked. I joined fitness bootcamps and weight loss challenges and made habit tracking charts. None of it worked. I had my hormones checked and was put on very restrictive diets by my doctors. None of it worked.
I lamented to my friends and family. I stood on the scale day after day wishing for a miracle. The miracle I wanted was weight loss.
The miracle I got was Body Image Resilience and Intuitive Eating.
I’ve spent years challenging everything I thought I knew about health and fitness. I’ve read dozens (and dozens) of books on psychology, weight science, and nutrition. I've worked with a Life Coach, a Therapist, and an Anti-Diet Dietitian. I am constantly gaining more certifications.
I’ve radically changed the way I view my body. I have learned how to unpack intrusive body image thoughts. I respect my body now, she is no longer my enemy.
I feel comfortable in my skin. I no longer binge eat or torment myself with restrictive diets and I ditched the scale a long time ago. Sometimes I still have “meh” body image days… but now I know how to escape that downward spiral.
Guiding others through their Intuitive Eating and Body Image Resilience journey is a profound and life-changing work... and I love it every day.
As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor (Lay Facilitator) and a seasoned educator, I am committed to continuing education. I will always immerse myself in the latest research by attending professional trainings, completing additional certifications, and by reading research studies and books.
I definitely agree. It's a compilation of the stories, concepts, data, and exercises that changed my own life.

"This course was wonderful! It was so versatile and the downloadable exercises are wonderful, especially if you are just starting intuitive eating.
Grace is absolutely lovely, personable, and knowledgeable. I love that she shares her own personal experience and struggles with diet culture and body image, which I found refreshing. It helps me to connect with someone who understands what I am going through.
She's been there and knows how to get out of the constant diet culture struggle. Not only does she have the experience, but she has laid out the research of Intuitive Eating,
which I found very valuable.
Overall, I learned so much and would buy this course again in a heartbeat."
Moving from Body Shame to Body Love in one step is not attainable, instead I present Six Steps that will help make that transition.
Course members will reflect on their past and current relationship with food and body by completing questionnaires to use as a baseline for course progress.
Foundational aspects of healthy body image are presented with compassion while encouraging course members to keep an open mind for shifting perspectives.
Course members will also focus on Intuitive Eating principles throughout to learn how to trust their own body's needs rather than being subject to external expectations.
Modules Three and Four focus on the mental aspects of authentic health. Course members will learn how to decouple thoughts and feelings from the truth about their bodies.
Gentle nutrition principles are presented in Module Five, including a guest presentation by a Registered Dietitian.
When you finish this course, you will have the tools and knowledge to move forward with a more positive, peaceful, resilient body image.
After completing the questionnaires again, you can quantify the internal progress you made and feel hopeful because this course is just the beginning of the rest of your life.
Immediately after you purchase the course, you will receive an email with instructions to access the course. If you don't see this email in your inbox, check your promotional or spam folders. If you still have questions, please email hello@gracehamner.com for support.

This course has a 100% refund guarantee, with a caveat. In order to receive a full refund, you must complete the course and the journal exercises. Why, you ask? Because this process won't work without time and intentional effort.

As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor (Lay Facilitator), I have been trained to represent Intuitive Eating as it is intended. Intuitive Eating is a framework designed by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch. I highly recommend reading the most current edition of the Intuitive Eating book.
I am currently on-track to become a Body Image and Eating Disorder Therapist, and will re-open this course upon graduation from my MSW program.
Until then, if you would like to work with a health or psychology practitioner who is also trained in the specialist field of Intuitive Eating, you can find someone via the Certified Counselor Directory.
If you feel that you need therapy, I encourage you to read through this blog post: How to Find a Therapist.
I recognize that many people experience financial hardship and stress when considering non-essential purchases.
For those with a Library Card:
Check out Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, Fat Girls in Black Bodies by Joy Cox, and Anti-Diet by Christy Harrison. These books will give you a solid foundation for the principles of Intuitive Eating and Body Image Resilience.
For those with Insurance:
Work with a registered dietitian or therapist near you! The most comprehensive list of professionals certified to teach Intuitive Eating can be found here.
I like to make sure to call ahead or email to ask if they are Health at Every Size® (HAES®) informed and practice Intuitive Eating (IE). HAES® and IE are specialty areas of care in the medical and dietetics field. Many healthcare professionals are extremely weight-biased and prescribe restrictive diets (for reasons we cover in the course!).
